The Woodlands Tx 4th of July Fireworks

13th Annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival

Sunday, July 4, 2010

Town Green Park & Waterway Square
6 pm to 10 pm

Join The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau at the annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival on Sunday, July 4, 2010 from 6 pm to 10 pm at Town Green Park & Waterway Square along The Woodlands Waterway.

The Festival will feature live music, face painting, strolling performers, games, hot dog and watermelon eating contests, vendor booths, concessions and much more!

As one of the largest fireworks displays in the greater Houston area, the Red, Hot & Blue Fireworks Extravaganza in The Woodlands will be a 23-minute show simulcast on Sunny 99.1, Houston's #1 Radio Station. The Fireworks will shoot off near the Anadarko Building in The Woodlands and the best fireworks viewing location is at Waterway Square and along The Woodlands Waterway.

An exciting event for all to see. The 23-minute fireworks show, shot over The Woodlands Town Center, is the second largest in the Greater Houston region, second only to downtown Houston. The soundtrack for The Red, Hot & Blue Festival Fireworks is simulcast on Houston’s #1 radio station, Sunny 99.1 and is expected to begin between 9:15 and 9:30pm. Visible from The Woodlands Mall and Waterway it's always a trill for both young and old.. Fireworks will shoot off of the intersection of Timberloch and Woodloch Forest Drive, the parking garage of Waterway Building I & II (located at 10001 Woodloch Forest Drive ), and the Anadarko Parking Garage. Streets and waterway will be shut down at 8:45 p.m. for safety reasons, and will re-open after the show. Free Event.

Photo Tips:

1. Scout locations before hand and get there early to ensure you get a good spot.

2. A tripod, a remote shutter release and a camera with manual settings are almost a must. (suggested settings are 400asa at f8 with 3 to 8 second shutter openings, above photo 200 asa at F16 5sec exp) this should do well with a film camera, with digital cameras you have the bonus of instant previews so you can adjust your settings as needed.

3. Watch the rhythm of the show and then you can begin to anticipate the action. Open your shutter about a half second before the next volley close it and reset in the middle. do this over an over again. Remember film is cheap, opportunities are not and with digital it’s basically free…

4. Remember, this is a fun event to just sit back and watch as well. Don’t forget to enjoy the show with your family.
