An exciting event for all to see. The 23-minute fireworks show, shot over The Woodlands Town Center, is the second largest in the Greater Houston region, second only to downtown Houston. The soundtrack for The Red, Hot & Blue Festival Fireworks is simulcast on Houston’s #1 radio station, Sunny 99.1 and is expected to begin between 9:15 and 9:30pm. Visible from The Woodlands Mall and Waterway it's always a trill for both young and old.. Streets and waterway will be shut down at 8:45 p.m. for safety reasons, and will re-open after the show. Free Event.
Photo Tips:
1. Scout locations before hand and get there early to ensure you get a good spot.
2. A tripod, a remote shutter release and a camera with manual settings are almost a must. (suggested settings are 400asa at f8 with 3 to 8 second shutter openings, above photo 200 asa at F16 5sec exp) this should do well with a film camera, with digital cameras you have the bonus of instant previews so you can adjust your settings as needed.
3. Watch the rhythm of the show and then you can begin to anticipate the action. Open your shutter about a half second before the next volley close it and reset in the middle. do this over an over again. Remember film is cheap, opportunities are not and with digital it’s basically free…
4. Remember, this is a fun event to just sit back and watch as well. Don’t forget to enjoy the show with your family.

“OPEN HEART” PHILOSOPHY
Jane’s “open heart” philosophy toward life began with her mother. Jane created a series of paintings that featured two open hearts linked together. The open-heart paintings became a tangible and dramatic expression of her mother’s advice: "If your heart is open, love will always find its way in." The concept has meaning on many levels, including the idea that if one’s heart is open, it will never stay broken. It also embodies the connection of giving and receiving all of life’s experiences. The result is Open Hearts by Jane Seymour™, a universal symbol for love and hope.
ABOUT JANE THE ARTIST: Jane Seymour began painting nearly a decade ago in response to a period of personal challenge. Art became the expression of a very private healing process and Jane emerged from the experience as an accomplished, passionate painter.
In 2004, Jane mounted her first one-woman museum exhibition at the Butler Institute of American Art. Additionally, Jane was selected as one of the official painters of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and most recently, the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
By redeveloping her technique, style and subject matter, Jane continues to reach new artistic levels. Jane created set designs and costumes for the Houston Ballet in 2001, and received a commission for the Ft. Worth-Dallas Ballet in 2003. In 2008, Jane teamed with Kay Jewelers on a jewelry collection inspired by her original open heart paintings.
ARTISTIC INSPIRATIONS: As long as she can remember, Jane Seymour had a love for the Impressionists’ themes, style and palette. The artist continues to admire the paintings of Monet, Degas, Chagall and Matisse, and the portraiture of John Singer Sargent.
